Nere is a former central or defensive midfielder. He spent his career at Persipura Jayapura in the 1970s and 1980s. He capped for Indonesia 38 times from 1979 to 1989. Compared to French legend Jean Tigana, Nere was an elegant who controlled the pace of the game and put as much effort as he could in every match.
