INFO:Siang'a was a goalkeeper. He spent his entire career in his native country Kenya, playing for Gor Mahia (initially called Luo Union) in the 1960s and 1970s. He capped for Kenya 69 times between 1963 and 1975, and was the starter at the 1972 Africa Cup of Nations that marked his country's first ever participation to the competition.
Regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers Kenya has ever produced, Siang'a was nicknamed "Abawa" for his imposing physique. Despite that, he was able of making acrobatic saves that couldn't be compared to any other keeper. He's credited for being the one to introduce the diving save in Kenya's football. He commanded the area with authority, giving instructions to his defender who always followed the orders. His big physique allowed him to be particularly strong in the air. He was dangerous during corner kicks as he could punch the ball hard with both fists, and neither opponents nor teammates would stay close to the ball. The opponents would never dare to challenge him in aerial duels. He once accidentally knocked out a teammate while being in the air.
He had a brilliant performance in 1963 (at only 14 years of age) in a historic 3-2 win over Scotland to win the Uhuru Cup. He had the chance to once again prove himself in 1968 in a friendly match against West Bromwich Albion as his performance led the English team to offer Siang'a a contract, but he was still a young student and his family didn't allow the transfer.
Possibly the most famous fact about Siang'a is the time when, during a match between Luo Union and Feisal, the goalkeeper feared Kadjo's terrific penalty kick and decided to take the ball and run away with it. The referee was then forced to stop the match.
