Dadzie is a former centre-back. He played for Asante Kotoko and Sekondi Hasaacas during his career in the 1970s and early 1980s. He represented Ghana at the 1978 and 1980 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, winning the first one. He was also the captain of the national team in many occasions.
One of Ghana's greatest defenders ─ the best ever centre-back, in his own words ─ Dadzie was named in the team of the tournament at the 1978 Africa Cup for his exceptional performance as he was the main reason why Ghana kept three clean sheets out of five matches. Eventually, he even scored in the final against Uganda, securing his team a 2-0 win. The stalwart of Ghana's back-line, Dadzie distinguished himself for his defensive leadership skills and good tackling ability. In addition, he was very good on the ball.
