INFO:Razak is a former attacking midfielder who could also play as central midfielder. He spent the majority of his career at Asante Kotoko where he played from 1975 to 1979, in 1981 and from 1985 to 1988, for a total 345 appearances and 154 goals. He was team captain for several years He also played for New York Cosmos in the United States, Emirates Club and Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates, Arab Contractors in Egypt, Africa Sports in Ivory Coast, retiring in 1990. He capped for Ghana 70 times, scoring 25 goals. In 1978, he won the Africa Cup of Nations and was named African Football Player of the Year.
Considered one of the greatest midfielders Ghana has ever produced, Razak was known for his magical left foot, the ability of understanding and reading the game and absolute ball control. He was a fantastic assist-man whose presence in the pitch and style of play could make average teammates look superior, almost great players. His approach was always no-nonsense and his demeanor slightly fearsome. In an interview in 2020, Razak recalled stamina, dribbling skills, deft touches and goal-scoring prowess being his extraordinary qualities.
