INFO:Nti is a former centre-forward. His career started in 1980 at Asante Kotoko where he played until 1985, scoring 142 goals in 362 appearances and winning the Africa Cup of Champions in 1983. The same year, he finished runner-up in the Africa Footballer of the Year award of France Football. Nti also played in Switzerland for Servette, Aarau, Baden and Glaris. He retired in 1992. He capped for Ghana 45 times, scoring 12 goals and winning the 1982 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nicknamed "Zico", Nti was an excellent goalscorer, considered the best Ghanaian attacker of the 1980s before Abedi Pelé's breakout. During the 1980s, African players had the reputation of possessing fine technical skills but poor physical condition and lack of tactical awareness. In fact, the natural left-footed Nti ended up not being a regular starter in his season with Servette, especially in the first half, but he was still able to show his superb technical qualities as well as fighting spirit and unselfishness, scoring 5 goals in 22 matches in all competitions.
