Mukasa is a former left-back. His career started in 1969 at Coffee FC. He then played for NIC from 1970 to 1972. He had his most successful time at Express FC where he played from 1972 to 1977 and in 1979. He also played for KCC in 1978. He represented Uganda from 1973 to 1978, taking part to the Africa Cup of Nations in 1974, 1976 and 1978. A regular starter in the 1974 and 1976 squads, he was named left-back of the tournament at the 1976 edition.
One of Uganda's greatest defenders, Mukasa was a neat and stylish left-footed player who hated rough play despite his role. He preferred defending with brain instead of using physical attribute, but he still had a powerful physique. He was also distinguished by endless stamina, accurate feet, pacey overlapping runs down the left flank and smart game reading ability that always left his opponents astonished. He balanced perfectly his quick runs with an excellent defensive stability. He scored at least 3 goals for Uganda, two of which from penalty.
