INFO:
Sellimi is a former centre-forward who could also play as winger. He spent the majority of his career at Club Africain where he played from 1990 to 1996 and 2002-03, making around 200 appearances and scoring 111 goals. He signed for Nantes in 1996 but didn't have a very good one and half year spell despite becoming a fan favourite. He spent the other half of the 1997-98 season in the Spanish second division with Real Jaén. He had his only notable experience outside Africa in Germany as he played for Freiburg from 1999 to 2002, scoring 30 goals in 124 games. He capped for Tunisia 80 times, scoring 20 goals and reaching the final of the 1996 African Cup of Nations where he was one of the best players in the tournament.
Sellimi was a very good striker distinguished by great ball control and dribbling, excellent speed on and off the ball, accuracy on both feet, spirit of sacrifice and plenty of stamina that earned him the nickname "the Lung" during his time at Nantes. Sellimi was effective in the box thanks to great heading skill and quickness in shooting. Despite playing primarily as centre-forward, he moved a lot on the flanks, supporting the other forwards with solid crosses. But he didn't only play inside and around the opposition's area. In fact, he ran a lot up and down the pitch, helping to recover the ball in the defense and quickly starting a counter-attack by carrying the ball forward or passing it to a teammate. Sellimi was also a fine set piece taker, scoring several penalties and occasionally free kicks.
