Sea Cheng Eang was an attacking midfielder or secondary striker. According to Svay Rieng local archives, he played for Preah Khan Reach from the late 1960s to the early 1970s and scored 9 goals in 12 appearances in the 1970 Cambodian league. Kampuchea Sports reported 8 goals in the 1971 season. Eang represented Cambodia from 1967 to 1974, including the 1972 Asian Cup where he scored 1 goal in the 4-0 win against Kuwait. He scored at least 9 goals in total for Cambodia.
While Eang was registered as a midfielder in official Asian tournaments, and sometimes specifically a left-side attacking midfielder, local sources often listed him as a secondary striker or inside striker. 1971 articles from Kampuchea Sports described him as a skilled dribbler with his serpentines while Rasmei Kampuchea mentioned in match reports his cutting-inside movements. Local sources from Svay Rieng highlighted Eang's tendency to often move wide to the flank or deep in midfield to set up the attack. However, he would drop back deep into midfield zones also to mark the opposing playmaker.
