INFO:
Mpeko is a side-back who primarily plays on the right side. He started his career in 2007 in his native country DR Congo, playing for Lumières Mbandaka. He transferred to Daring Moteba Pembe in 2008 and to Vita Club on 2011. He played 115 matches and scored 1 goal for Vita Club in three seasons. Following a short experience in Angola with Kabuscorp between 2013 and 2015, he returned to DR Congo as he signed for Mazembe where he had his longest spell, playing 250 matches between 2015 and 2023, scoring 15 goals. He returned to Vita Club in 2023 and signed for Saint-Éloi Lupopo in 2024. He represented DR Congo from 2011 to 2023, earning 81 caps and scoring 1 goal.
Mpeko was a solid side-back, especially defensively. He possessed sense of position, anticipation, tackling ability, and was good in the air to clear the ball with headers. He was also fast on and off the ball and was often in charge of taking throw-ins. Although he joined the attack whenever he had the chance and often attempted to provide an assist, his crosses were usually bad, having decent speed but lacking of the right accuracy to trouble the opposing defenders. His ground passes were overall slightly better.
