INFO:Flowers is a former goalkeeper. His career began in 1984 at Wolverhampton Wanderers. He joined Southampton 1986 but became a regular starter only after a short spell at Swindon Town. He eventually played 251 matches for "the Saints". He transferred to Blackburn Rovers in 1993 and won the Premier League in the second season at the club. He left in 1999 after 217 appearances. He then played for Leicester City, Stockport County, Coventry City and Manchester City, retiring in 2002. He gained 11 caps for England and was part of the UEFA Euro 1996 squad.
Regarded as one of England's best goalkeepers during the 1990s, Flowers had a tall and well built physique but he still was quite agile. He possessed very good saving skills, positional sense and was mostly effective at catching high balls. Also he could deliver good goal kicks.
