INFO:Macedo was a former goalkeeper who spent the vast majority of his career at Fulham, making 391 appearances between 1955 and 1968. He also played for Colchester United and in South Africa for Durban City and Highlands Power. He retired in 1973. He was considered the finest goalkeeper never to win a full international cap for England. He was ineligible as he was born in Gibraltar, a non-UEFA country back then.
Nicknamed "the Rock", Macedo was a strong and brave goalkeeper, always ready to dive onto his opponent's feet or jump to take crosses amongst elbows and knees despite the offensive aggression of the time. He commanded his area with great personality, showing great displays of agility, interception and incredible positional sense. He could also deliver strong and quite accurate long passes to his teammates. Probably the best goalkeeper in Fulham's history, he could make excellent saves. On the other hand, he made some avoidable mistakes. His performances slowly started a downfall after he suffered an injury following a kick received from an opponent during a match against Everton.
