INFO:Peyton is a former goalkeeper. His career began in 1975 at Burnley, after being rejected by Coventry City, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa. He joined Fulham two years later, making 345 league appearances. In 1986, he transferred to Bournemouth, where he played 202 league games. He played also for Southend United, Everton, Bolton Wanderers, Norwich City, Brentford, Chelsea and West Ham United, always as reserve goalkeeper. He capped for Ireland 33 times and was featured in the 1988 European Cup as well as in the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
Peyton was a good and consistent goalkeeper, gifted with good reflexes and clearing ability. He used to push the ball away rather than blocking it. Also, he had a powerful kick to deliver the ball far to the forwards. Sometimes, he lacked of positional sense and didn't have a great covering ability, meaning that he was often disastrous in one-on-one situations. He was seemingly more effective with his feet whenever he came off the goal to stop his opponent, even outside of the penalty area.
