Narahashi is a former right back. He played only for two teams during his career: Fujita Industries/Bellmare Hiratsuka/Shōnan Bellmare from 1990 to 1996 ─ plus a match in 2007 ─ and Kashima Antlers from 1997 to 2006. He played a total of 234 matches for Bellmare and 269 for Kashima, scoring respectively 22 and 20 goals. He gained 38 caps for Japan.
Narahashi was effective in the defence as much as in the attack. Initially mostly focused in the latter, his defensive abilities got better year by year. He possessed high speed and an accurate sliding tackle ability. He showed good crosses and assist-man qualities as well as shooting abilities when he pushed forward. He also was gifted with decent leap and heading despite his short size.
