Dellarole was a full back. He made 223 appearances for Pro Vercelli from 1927 to 1936, when he retired. He played also for Biellese between 1923 and 1925. Tough, reliable and physically well built, he formed with Zanello a magnificent couple of defenders. He wasn't technically gifted and his playstyle was simply based on practicity and efficiency. He defended with tenacity and determination, even though he had troubles at stopping skilled dribblers. Despite his performances being on the same level as Zanello, Dellarole was never called up for Italy, not even when he had to guide Pro Vercelli's defence by himself after his Zanello left the team.
