INFO:McLintock is a former centre back, capable of playing as wing-half. Starting his career at Leicester City in 1956, he made 204 appearances in eight seasons, scoring 25 goals. He then transferred to Arsenal, where he played 403 games from 1964 to 1973, scoring 32 goals and filling the captain role from 1967. He retired in 1977 after spending four seasons at Queens Park Rangers. He capped for Scotland 9 times, scoring once.
McLintock was a very good and consistent player and defensive leader, distinguished for his respectful behaviour. He was a tireless hardworker, not notably fast but gifted with great enthusiasm and commitment. While he didn't have a great positional sense, he possessed an outstanding game reading ability. He had superb strength and the ability to make great jump that enabled him to be phenomenal and almost unbeatable in the air. With these skills, he was capable not only of intercepting his opponents with ease but also scoring numerous goals with headers. He wasn't known for high technical qualities but his passing was solid.
