Defence MindedINFO:Manni was a full back. He grew up in Colligiana and was bought in 1934 by Siena, who thought he was a good striker. However he became a regular defender from the second season. He played 101 matches in Serie B and Serie C before being sold to Modena, in Serie A. He played 80 games in Modena, most of them in the Italian top division. Then he played unsuccessfully for Napoli and Carpi before playing another season in Siena − this time in Serie A − in 1945-46. He had good seasons in Cosenza from 1946 to 1949, when he decided to retire from professional football.
Manni was a good defender, gifted with a huge physique. A good and tough man marker, he formed with Passalacqua a defence difficult to beat.
