Bajević is one of the greatest foreign imports to Greek football, hugely successful in his 4 years as a player and utterly dominant as manager of AEK and Olympiacos winning 4 league titles with each club. At the time he joined AEK, Bajević was struggling with injuries and was considered to be past his peak, but he repaid the faith shown in him by developing a lethal partnership with Thomas Mavros and winning 2 league titles. While he wasn't so mobile, he stood out for his excellent technical abilities and prolific scoring, especially with headers. As his physical abilities were declining he also often dropped deeper and showed some nice passing ability. Usually strikers with such a combination of height and technique play more as a target man holding up the ball, but Bajević liked the ball at his feet and running at defenders, twisting and turning past them. He could even score some goals from free kicks. For AEK he scored 91 goals in only 135 games. After being a key figure in the great late 70s team of AEK, he made history by creating arguably the greatest team in their history during the early 90s when he won 3 consecutive league titles as manager. Despite this success he's still considered a controversial figure with AEK fans after leaving them for rivals Olympiacos and because of his quite difficult personality.
