Career started as a goalkeeper in the pioneers of NK Zagreb, to achieve full recognition in Hajduk in which remained for 19 years. With juniors of Hajduk won two championships and two cups. It is interesting that a so-called "gold reserve" Hajduk, and almost is the most successful football club in the history of Split. As Hajduk Split defender played 209 first league match, scoring six goals. Member of the famous generation of the "whites"which four times won the championship title (1971, 1974, 1975, 1979) and five times Cup of Marshal Tito (1972, 1973, 1974, 1976. and 1977.).
Played one season in the German Bundesliga team FC Schalke 04 in which he played only nine games and scored 2 goals. Perfomance was "hung on the peg" with 28 years of age. For the Yugoslav national team played five games. He made his debut on 13 November 1977 against Romania (6-4) in Bucharest, and from "blue" his farewell was on May 18, 1978 against Italy (0-0) in Rome.
