The primary role of Fresi SWP was, as you can read in this interview to the same player: http://www.tuttolegapro.com/esclusiva-u ... resi-65069.
Here's an extract, of the interview in which he talks about his role:

"Nasci libero, per poi divenire mediano. Chi ti cambiò questo ruolo?

"Roy Hodgson, quando ero all'Inter"."

Even more interesting is this article in Italian, which speaks clearly of the role in the field of Fresi. It is an article about the episode in which Fresi is self-bypassed by the match against Parma as coach Simoni in the previous game against Lyon had deployed as a central midfielder and the player wanted to return to his role as SWP. Here is an article extract, whose link is: http://archiviostorico.unita.it/cgi-bin ... %20Sanctis

The very title of the article in question( "Caso Fresi "libero" di non giocare...") is a play on words between his role in the field (SWP) "LIBERO" in Italian, and that it was " "libero" di non giocare...".

I suggest therefore SWP as the main position, CB how to position secondary and optionally DMF role, having played as we read in the articles that I also posted in this role.
