Quote:
Romano was central midfielder, the "regista" in Napoli team which won the first scudetto. He was talented player but had lot of problems with injuries and form. The conductor and deep-lying playmaker with great tactical awareness, dictating the play of the team and orchestrating the attacking actions. Very gifted technically, player who could provide and score, make good dribbling and feed the strikers with good passing range. But he wasn't slow and static like classic playmakers, rather pretty mobile and with decent pace on the ball. He had solid shot, not too strong but precise and he was also decent set piece taker. He didn't score too much since he had other tasks on the field and was located very deep in midfield, but he had solid instinct in the box. He wasn't weak physically although he was pretty small, and could score after somo solo runs and shot from 15-20 meters but also capable of reacting well in the box and scoring.
