Gerardo Moncada mostly know by his nickname "el Alemán" (the German) was one of the best side back in Colombian history and mostly in Atlético Nacional history winning Colombian tittles in 1973 and 1976.
He become his career playing as central defender but because his height he was moved to side back, where he become to be recognized and could give the jump to professional football. That experienced gave him his best quality, his impressive jump capacity and also he devolved and excellent head capacity, quality not very usual in a side back.
Another of his best quality were his great throw in that used to be very strong, he was able to convert a throw in in a corner kick.
