Terry Yorath was born in Splott, Cardiff on 27 March 1950. After playing for Cardiff school, he was spatted by Leeds United. Terry was the ultimate professional who rarely let his team down, whatever position he was asked to play. A tenacious, tough tackling midfielder, if short of speed, he eventually developed into a good, sometimes decisive, distributor of the ball with no mean shot.
He would eventually play in all ten out-field positions for Leeds and would feature in almost 200 games for the club, scoring total 12 goals. Yorath, picked up the first of 59 Welsh caps in 1970 againts Italy, and he maintained a regular presence in the international side until 1981, Yorath also captained his country on 42 occasions.
