Attack / Defence Awareness Card: BalancedINFO:Yuri Gavrilov was former Russian midfielder. He was one of the best USSR creative players. This left footed player was equally comfortable in playing deeper in midfield or more offensive as an attacking midfielder or even striker. Except of his amazing playmaking abilities he was also a good scorer with a good scoring record for midfielder. His great variety of passes, brillant vision and right timed runs in opponents box compemsated his lack of pace and not especially good shot. He was extremly dangerous in playing short quick passes, often one-two's with Blochin on the left side and Shengelia on the right side. But those two constantly changed side as did also Gavrilov. He was especially dangerous when receiving pass on the right side of midfield near the box and than going vertical to the goal making "damage" to opponents, something similar what Messi is doing nowadays, but off course much faster. He was physically little bit weak, very slim in the beginning of his carrer but in the later part of his carrer he gained little bit more strength. That came also with more experience and off course the unbelievable and fast work of his brain. Maybe the best ever soviet playmaker.
