He was a left defender and one of the best Swiss players in late 60's and early 70's. Stierli played at SC Zug, Zurich FC, RSC Anderlecht, FC Neuchâtel Xamax FC Zurich and again. He came 15 times for the Swiss national team. He made his debut on September 29, 1969 in Berne against Austria, and played his last game on October 9, 1974 against the Netherlands in Rotterdam. |

i would suggest "S05: 1-Touch Pass" for stierli - for zurich, stierli's play seemed to be all about keeping the ball moving with a single touch (see zurich v leeds from 1974, for instance) also, i'm not certain stierli was an 86 level defender - seems a couple of points too high for me, but that's a subjective viewpoint - any opinions? |
