INFO:
Al-Houti is a former defensive or central midfielder and occasionally centre back. He spent his entire career at Kuwait SC from 1970 to 1984. He played for Kuwait at least 27 times, winning the 1980 AFC Asian Cup and taking part to the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He was team captain in both tournaments. Undisputed leader of Kuwait national team and arguably their most important ever captain, Al-Houti was the lungs of the Kuwaiti squad, as he contributed in both attack and defence, probably giving more importance to the latter. Even though he had a very short physique, he was excellent in taking the ball off his opponent, especially with sliding tackles. He possessed decent technique while his dribbling skills weren't as good and he wasn't particularly fast. In fact, he rarely tried to overcome his opponent, preferring to distribute the ball with his accurate short passes with either foot. His long passes weren't bad but not on the same level as the short ones. He was quite reactive as he could immediately go back on the ball when he made a mistake. He sometimes pushed forward to the opposing area too frequently as he had a decent shooting ability with remarkable power.
