INFO:
Al-Tarabulsi is a former goalkeeper. His career started in 1963 at Qadsia but he spent most of it at Kuwait SC from 1964 to 1983. He played for Kuwait national team from 1974 to 1983, winning the 1980 AFC Asian Cup and taking part to the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He won the Gulf Cup three times in a row, in 1972, 1974 and 1976, being named best goalkeeper of the tournament in the 1974 edition as he conceded no goals.
Regarded as one of the greatest players in Kuwait history and one of Asia's best ever goalkeepers, the experienced al-Tarabulsi had a very short physique that allowed him to move quickly between the posts and off the goal. He possessed excellent goalkeeping skills as he could block difficult shots or deflect thunderous long rangers. His superb agility and reflexes made him capable of making great saves even when the ball came from near or when it looked like he was beaten. He was quite showy as he sometimes made unnecessary dives to stop easy balls. He wasn't particularly distinguished for his ability one-on-one. However, he had good anticipation and sense of position. He knew the right time to come off the goal to catch a cross or when it was better to stay in the middle of the box to save a shot. Despite his lack of height, he could keep the balance after catching a high ball and avoid falling if opposed by another player. He had a solid jump even though he relied mostly on reading the trajectory of the ball. His distributed the ball decently, usually delivering short passes with his hands and long ones with his right foot, dosing the power of his kick but sometimes lacking of accuracy.
