INFO:In the founding year BATE played in the Eastern zone of the second group (D2) championship BSSR. In the first season BATE was fairly successful. Its follow-up team won the right to serve for the next year in the championship of the Republic.
In 1974, BATE made the first success - the champion of the BSSR, winning 15 games in a season of 18 held.
However, in the next, in 1975, BATE had to be content with only fifth place.
In 1976, BATE designed unique double, winning the BSSR championship and Cup.
Later BATE again champion (1979), silver medalist (1978) and twice was the fourth (1977, 1981). In 1981, the team was disbanded.
In 1996 the initiative group decided to revive the club. President of FC BATE Borisov was elected Anatoliy Kapskiy, became head coach Yuriy Puntus. During the first two years of the new history of the club has won the second league championship and finished second in the first, went into the highest league, where in 1998, immediately won the silver medal. Since then, the team has never dropped below the 5 th place in the championship.
2008 was special in the history of FC BATE Borisov and the entire Belarusian football. This year BATE overcame the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League and became the first Belarusian football club, who managed to get into the Champions League group stage.
