Ibarra in place of Pernia if everybody agree could be done. About Palermo I agree with Rossonero, don't know if he was better or not than Caceres but he is an icon, best scorer and key player alongside Riquelme in Bianchi era. I don't get why Pernia should be removed here. He was vital part of the squad that won back to back Copa Libertatores in 1977/1978, always fought for his team and is a true Boca legend himself. But hey, his coach was only "Toto" Lorenzo and not Bianchi, so apparently he can't be as good as Ibarra.. Regarding Maradona: I can still remember how people were crying when Romario was in first team at Barca AS because he only had one season (that was extraordinary) there. This continued so long until he was removed from first team (right decision) and later even from the reserves (still don't know why this was done). Following this logic, Maradona should be out of the first team here as well..

One season at the top level, the other three years, he played at a terrible physical level although technically he was at a great level, during his last three years he had a continuous drama with Boca, changing almost every moment his decision to retire, there were semesters in which he did not play, although in a general balance I think that his era round had only a breeze of nostalgia from Boca of the 90's. Besides that Boca fans love him at least most of them, is different compare Romario in Barcelona than Maradona in Boca. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o6piX9J-qlQ/U ... 8850_n.jpg

Luis Suarez =>>> Romario at any Barca team, you can bet on it.
Pernia isn't more of a legend than Ibarra, you can ask that to any Boca fan.

We are forgetting someone, Fernando Navarro Montoya he was the sub of Gatti in some point, but IMO he is one of the best GK's in Primera Division history, i can say that he was even better than Abbondanzieri.
He needs to be here.

Seems weird to see Dino Sani in the reserves considering he played about half a season for Boca (14 games) and didn't win anything. Surely Gago could take his place in the reserves.

I didn't see that Sani was there, he should be removed. tbh i don't know if Gago deserve be named among the reserves, he has winned two league titles but around all his spell in Boca he has been SO inconsistent, prone to be injured, i lost the count of how many times he was injured, currently he isn't playing regurlaly and probably he won't see any minute in the upcoming Copa Libertadores Final, but otherwise i don't no who other can replace Sani. I'm with artemds in this one, Bermudez is regarded among the best central backs of boca's history and he's regurlaly named in the best eleven in recent years and he should be in the first team.

I put another view to this team, Ruggeri hasn't anything to do here, he should be replaced for Clemente Rodriguez who importance in Boca is miles away from Ruggeri, Mussimesi should be replaced for Navarro Montoya.
Marcelo Delgado also is a must here, its just look his archiviements with the club and we would what he did for boca.

This team needs an update badly, most of this can be improved. I can collaborate if you are planning to do so.

This potential update is sure to cause some controversies. That's why I decided to add some explanations. First of all, Nacho and I didn't agree with every choice but we found an agreement. I'm sure though that some of you won't agree at all with some choices. So, give your suggestions to make changes if you think they're needed. We'll think about the best XI afterwards. Goalkeepers: While Gatti is an obvious choice, the selection of the second keeper was between Córdoba and Roma. I wanted to go with the latter for his longer spell at the club. We eventually opted for the Colombian.
Defenders: I noticed a controversy about whether Ibarra or Pernía should be in the first team. We chose Ibarra, but here's the problem: the team has three right-backs. Ibarra, Sosa and Suñé who can play in this position. The team may need another centre-back instead. In this case, Ibarra or Sosa has to go out. What do you all think?
Midfielders: Battaglia in and Trobbiani out seems an obvious choice. Battaglia spent almost his entire career with Boca Juniors, has more than twice the games Trobbiani has, and won much more than him.
Forwards: Here's another controversy. I'm sure at least some of you would keep Delfín Benítez in the first team, which I wouldn't be against. The team though has enough centre-forwards (Palermo, Varallo and the other forwards who can play in this position). Barros Schelotto played with Boca for a decade, winning a lot of trophies. His inclusion in the first team is more than fair, in my opinion. I wasn't too sure about Tévez for the fact that he left the team and came back a few times. But he has great numbers and won many trophies. And given his class, it was to be expected that he would've left Boca at some point.
