Gallego was a far better player than Merlo and probably, after Rossi, the best DM of River's history.
Merlo is one of the few OCM of the Team and was important in the 1975 title so he deserves tons of respect but if we talk about quality and relevance Gallego was better than him in almost every aspect, even Astrada was better than him.

I think that for all he has won, and in the way he did it, Armani has already established as the 3rd best goalkeeper in the team's history. He has to be in the team over Soriano.
