I would consider two players:

Mauro Galvão (center back) and Marco Antônio (left back)

Mauro Galvão played only two seasons and had his peak at Botafogo.
Marco Antônio spent three years but at the end of his career. The last season was in Série B and he only played 32 games in two Série A seasons.

Yes. Marco Antonio played 32 games at 33 in total. In the old times, Brazilian National league were shorter and had less games than nowadays.

The context in Brazil is different than Europe. As a continental dimension country, Brazil used to give more attention to the stats championships in the past, the National league were growing with time.

Also, Serie B for Bangu is a big deal, as Bangu only played 11 times in first division and 8 in second.

Adhemar BIANCHINI de Carvalho is a good name to be added here too.

Fausto never played as center-half (DMF) at Bangu. He played as "meia-direita" until beginning of 1929, a kind of AMF.

At Vasco, in 1929, coach Harry Welfare made him a center-half because of his powerful lungs, technique and intelligence.

I believe the term "meia-direita" refers more to SMF Right Side. I mean, I don't know if that term was used that way back then.

SMF didn't exist back then. Meia-direita may refer to either right-half or right-inside.

Meia-direita was in the future the number 8 and meia-esquerda the number 10, forming the 5 attack players.

The term may not be applied back then in 1928 but was applied to explain his position in 1965 by João Máximo.

In 1928, teams in Brazil were formed by a goalkeeper, 2-men defensive line with a "waiting" defender and a combative defender, then the half line, formed by 3-men: right-half, center-half and left-half. At last, he explains the attack 5-men line (always playing in opponent's field), as ponta-direita, meia-direita, centroavante, meia-esquerda and ponta-esquerda, just to give us an idea where was him in the field back then.

The Right SMF or RB or DM or CM (as you prefer) you refer was the right-half in his explanation.
