Note that this position is split between "centre backs" and "sweepers", this list is strictly for stoppers and there's another list for the more ball-playing defenders. Although the criteria for which list each player belongs to seems to be somewhat subjective, and seemingly random at some points.
I think the guy that made the lists said that if players could play multiple positions he’d put them in the list that they’d place the highest in, so he’s basically 3rd in this list because he was a legendary centre forward. Doesn’t make any sense to me tbh, Charles was a great centre back but I don’t think he’d be in anybody’s list of 100 centre backs if he was being judged solely on how well he played in that position...
Other than that, weren’t Luigi de Agostini and Gérard Janvion full backs? I’ve stopped trying to figure out his logic at this point, these lists are more of a novelty rather than something to be taken seriously...

If i remember right, Jánvion started to play more centrally later on his career (like his compatriots Bossis and Thuram), but unlike those two, i believe he's more recognized as a fullback (the modern definition of course )
