INFO

Theodore Szkudlapski was one of the greatest talents in the French football history. Theo was left wing half or inside left, very slow but technically fantastic. He was great dribbler, especially on the tight area where he could dribble 3-4 opponents, good scorer mainly with his rocket shot, fantastic 40 meters long passes and great vision. His vision of the game, his speed of execution and an irreproachable technique do not weigh heavily against a coach who advocates a manly game without frills. Endowed with a flawless technique, an irreproachable vision of the game, Theo directs, distributes; With his long, precise passes, he accelerates the game. He wasn't running at all, he was walking on the field. But he had a left foot. It was a hand. He sent the ball where he wanted. He was an exceptional playmaker. That's why he was almost never selected for the France team. It has only been done once or twice, in particular following a petition from Monegasque supporters. It couldn't fit into the gaming system of the time, which was more based on the speed of the players. He signed a professional contract with Lens. Szkudlapski was there also quite dangerous and scored his point total of 85 games and 20 goals. In 1958 he moved to league rivals Stade Rennes UC. Then he got in 1960 the newly crowned champions AS Monaco, where he brought his skills to develop fully. In his first year he won with Monaco the championship in Division 1 and to the Coupe Charles Drago. This was also true for Monaco's performances in the European Champions Cup, although they only made two games against the Rangers (1961/62), AEK Athens and Inter Milan (both in 1963/64) passed. Five of these matches, and also denied Szkudlapski, scoring two goals -. Both from the penalty spot against Athens and Milan. 1964 was the runner-up AS Monaco, but then was followed by three years, the only team ranked between 12 and finished ranked 14th 1967 gave the club the Théo SO Montpellier, he had played 215 first division alone for the red and whites scored 34 goals in it. When he SO Montpellier and moved on to Stade Brest how long he played there in each case - Montpellier went bankrupt in 1969, Brest rose in 1970 from the third to the second division - is not determinable at present. In the 1970s he was also once worked at AS Monaco and worked in the youth training center of the club. Then came Théo back in his home region, worked long as a groundsman in Avion and lived until his death in Lens.
