INFO:

One of the greatest legends in the history of Polish football. Brychczy was one of the greatest technicians in his era throughout the old continent, fantastic dribbler, two-footed shooter, had great ball control and rarely lost the ball especially while in dribbling run. He was playmaker and scorer, wasn't selfish player. Every dribbling ended with highly precise pass or shot, great organizer of the attacking moves. He comes from Silesia and the first steps in club football put Chase New Bytom, then moved to clubs in Gliwice - LTS Łabędy (1948-1953) and the hub. In 1954 - in connection with military service - he moved to Warsaw Legion and remained faithful to the club until the end of a career zawodniczej, and through the decades as a coach. Today, it is mentioned among the greatest legends of the Warsaw club, enjoys great popularity and respect among the fans. Along with the Legion won four Polish championships (1955, 1956, 1969, 1970), and four times won the Polish Cup (1955, 1956, 1964, 1966). Over the years Brychczy - playing as a striker or midfielder - he was top scorer in the league of the Legion, and in the years 1957, 1964 and 1965 Polish league top scorer. He appeared in the Legion for 19 seasons, scored 268 league matches, which scored 182 goals, is his club record of longevity - the first and last game in the colors of the Legion was divided 17 years and 170 days. It is also the oldest player in the history of the Legion league (except keepers) - on the last match was 37 years and 161 days - and the goal scorer in the league - 37 years and 88 days. As a footballer Legion Brychczy also scored the European Cup semi-finals of the National Champions. He had a rich career as a representative. He made his debut in the scene in August 1954 in a match with Bulgaria, as a competitor of the Legion (although due to the ongoing summer break in the competition even before the first match in the league for the club in Warsaw). Occurred in 58 matches including official and two unofficial (in 1959 qualifying match against Germany before the Olympics in Rome, and the match at the Olympics with Argentina). One of the most memorable events of his participation was a game with the Soviet Union in 1957, where the two winning goals scored with Gerard Cieslik Brychczego applications. In 1960 appeared at the Olympic Games in Rome, but without much success - the representation of Tunisia beat up, but after the defeats of Denmark and Argentina have been eliminated at the stage of group meetings. In 11 matches he captained Brychczy representation. The last match in the national team played 27 August 1969 with Norway, where he won eighteen score in the history of its representational performances. As a professional officer (in 1988, promoted to lieutenant colonel) could not go over to the club career abroad. Among the clubs that have struggled to Brychczego was among others the famous Real Madrid or AC Milan. In the early appearances of the Legion of Brychczy intended to return to Silesia, but due to the necessity of "making up for the" military service and influence of the Legion of activists (including Non Sport Events), he failed to realize these plans. In this situation, after several years of performances on the pitch at the Legion also remained as coach. He was involved in the coaching staff various positions, including several first coach. But today he says he is proud of such a long time because I spent and still spends at the Legion, from year to year, this club is getting closer to him, and if he could turn back time, would have acted the same way. He was assistant coach Tadeusz Chruścińskiego (1971/1972), then in May 1972 he became the first coach. He led the team until June 1973, winning the Polish Cup. Was also the first coach in 1979-1980, 1987, 1990, and in place in 1998 and 1999. In October 2004, the fiftieth year of collaboration with the Legion, was a month a member of the coaching trio (with Jack and Krzysztof Zielinski Gawarą) created after the cancellation of Dariusz Kubicki, then was one of three assistant trainer J. Zielinski. Over the years he was an assistant coach repeatedly first coach, including Andrew Strejlaua, George Engel, Francis Smuda, Dragomir Okuki, Dariusz Maciej Kubicki and currently keen. As a footballer had the reputation of one of the better technicians and tacticians in Europe. Efficiency in the attack were not conducive to the physical conditions (166 cm, 60-66 kg), which made up for technical skills. For years he was known by the nickname Kitty, given by the Hungarian coach Janos Steiner. In recognition of his coaching football and was awarded, among others Officer's Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Polish, and the Polish Football Association in 1999 awarded him honorary membership.
