Horst Mahseli is former Polish player of German origins. He played first as striker than as right back, the player with offensive attitude ahead of his time, pretty strong and mobile, endurable with good work in offensive moves of the team but also reliable in defensive duties. Fast, fighting, reliable and relentless in the game, a side defender who can combine the duties of a defender with offensive tasks. Witnesses to his game say it was "iron defender", but well-liked off the pitch. He was an excellent right-back and hard-playing, able to move quickly from defense to attack. Maybe because at the beginning of his career - still representing the colors of Polonia Bytom - he was also a striker. As a defender he was ahead of his time, he played very modern and responsible. e of Warsaw University of Technology, an electrical engineer, an officer in the People's Republic SZ major military level. As a player played as a striker, then right-back. Measured 177 cm and weighed 74 kg. He was a graduate of Polonia Bytom, where he played in the years 1948-1954. Then, in the years 1955-1969 occurred in Legia Warsaw. During the 15 seasons he played in 295 matches Legion and scored 2 goals, won the Polish championship three times (1955, 1956, 1969), the Polish Cup twice (1955, 1956). In the years 1972-1973 he was an instructor playing Okecie Warsaw, and in 1974 coached the Star Coaches. The Polish national team played 9 matches. In 1949, under duress he officially changed his name to Anthony John Maseli. In 1958, he regained his maiden first name and surname. In 1968 the name was changed again to Anthony John Maseli. When you go to Germany, in the late 70s, he returned to the spelling of baptism Horst Lothar Mahseli. He died in 1999, aged 65.
