Herzog was fast and agile winger with good technique and crossing capacities, good as creator and scorer. He had good working habits, typicall for German players. Everytime he lost the ball, he'd chase his opponent and try to recover the ball or disturb him the best he can. Dieter was real team player and very rare missed a game, never had any injury.
