Rudi Kargus is former German keeper and HSV legend. Kargus saved 24 penalties iduring his career which makes him the best keeper in history of Bundesliga in terms of saved penalties. He was keeper who preferred to stay on goal line where with his good positioning and reflexes, it was very hard to beat him. A native of Worms was still playing as a twelve-year-old in the youth of Wormatia as striker before he came through a breach of the Keepers in-budgetary goal. In DFB youth coach Herbert Widmayer gave debut to young keeper on 25 November 1970 in Lübeck in the international against Sweden in the German Junior National Team. With his teammates Hartmut Huhse, Manfred Kaltz, Caspar Memering, Michael and Ronald Worm Sziedat celebrated the talent of the Nibelungen City a 1-0 victory.
