Footballer of the year in 1981 in Czechoslovakia. Jan was central and offensive midfielder, type of offensive midfielder with nose for goals and final pass to teammates. Excellent in play with head, technical offensive midfielder with a large radius of action and good shooting. Two-footed player with good pace, passing and technique. Born in village Matejovce. With football started as 14 years old in junior team of Spisska Nova Ves. As 18 years old started to play in A team. In 1974 went to Lokomotiva Kosice and next year team was promoted to the Czechoslovak Premier league. Member of Czechoslovak national team, which finished 3-rd in EURO
1980. In 1981 became a Czechoslovak player of the year. Jan Kozak was born April 17, 1954. Gained a lot of football in lokomotiva Nova Ves, where he played in the years between 1969 and 1974. Then signed to the more famous club of the same name, who dwelt on the Košice suburb Cermat. For Lokomotiv Kosice Kozak played seven league season. During that time, two orders of magnitude from the profit of the Czechoslovak Cup. The army in Dukla Prague became the first and last league champion (1982). In the league scoring thirteen goals for Dukla. Year previously played in a team Dukla, who won the Czechoslovak Cup (1981). Then John Kozak also won the Player of the Year poll.
