Zieliński is a central, attacking and side midfielder, capable of playing as winger and defensive midfielder out of necessity. Grown up at Udinese, he debuted in the first team in 2012. He then transferred to Empoli in 2014 before signing for Napoli two years later. He's been playing with the Partenopei since 2016 and has made 319 appearances so far, scoring 47 goals. He capped for Poland 80 times, scoring 10 goals.
A very versatile player, Zieliński showed this quality especially in his early Napoli years as he was deployed anywhere in midfield and sometimes in a more advanced position as winger. In his recent years, instead, he's been deployed mainly as attacking or central midfielder. Not notably strong but technically and athletically gifted, he's extremely accurate with either foot, has excellent ball control as well as solid pace on and off the ball. He can run with the ball at his feet when he has space or he can elude the opposition's pressing to unmark himself and receive the ball. Already a superb passer in his first years at Napoli, he though preferred playing the ball low and short, showing some good crosses from time to time. Both his passing and crossing skills improved highly in his recent years, allowing him to provide a solid number of assists and become one of the main corner takers. He became also a more daring player, often looking for a chance to dribble his opponents, overcoming them with nutmegs and quick feints. His shooting skill is remarkable and varied as he can unleash powerful volleys and long range shots, make late runs to tap the ball in, or receive the ball in good positions to beat the goalkeeper one-on-one. In his early years though he attempted the shot from outside the area more frequently. In addition to his skills, his good form and great work ethic enabled him to often surpass the 50 games per season including club and national team.
