BalancedINFO:Gonzalo Escobar is an Argentine footballer who plays as a left-back. Born in Alejandro Korn, Buenos Aires (16/03/1997), he started his professional career on May 16th, 2016, in a 2-0 win against Newell's Old Boys playing for C.A. Temperley. By the 2016-17 season he was already a starter at the
gasolero, playing in 26 out of 29 matches that year. After his good spell at the Turdera team, Escobar was sold to C.A. Colón in 2018 for AR$ 10,000,000 (around US$ 500,000). He made his debut on February 3rd, 2018 in a 0-2 loss against C.A. Independiente, and then, one month later, he made his international debut in Colón's 1-0 win against Club Zamora in the 2018 Copa Sudamericana, where they got eliminated on the round of 16. He became vital in the 2018-19 season, reaching the 2019 Copa Sudamericana final (the first international final in the team's history) playing in 9 out of 11 games as a starter, including the final. In 2021, Escobar won the Copa de la Liga for Colón, the first title in the team's history, and despite not playing in the quarterfinals or semifinals, Escobar was a starter in the final and played the whole 90 minutes. One month after the tournament ended, he was sold to U.D. Ibiza, in Spain, where he would play for two seasons before returning to South America to play for Fortaleza E.C., in Brazil. At the
Leão do Pici, Escobar reached the 2023 Copa Sudamericana final but ultimately did not play any games. In April 2024, he was loaned to Santos FC, in their quest of returning to the Brasileirão after being relegated for the first time in their history.
