Fast, grating and determined striker, he had the characteristics of the modern striker, able to develop an action and conclude it thanks to his skill and his very good head game. Discovered in Angoulême, he exploded at the Girondins de Bordeaux and thanks to this he was selected for the French team as his father René was in the past. Son of the mythical René Gallice , legend of the Girondins, Jean Gallice was one of the most prominent Bordeaux players in the 70s. Born on May 13, 1949, the son naturally immersed himself in football like his father. Trained at the Stade Bordelais with which he reached the semi-final of the Gambardella Cup, he then began as a professional footballer in Angoulême before joining the Marine et Blanc team in 1971. He then played six full seasons at Parc Lescure alongside his brother André. Stocky, moustachioed, stingy with arabesques and stylistic rides, the attacking midfielder and even striker shook the nets with no less than 53 goals in 219 matches played during the difficult years of the Roureau presidency. Seven times French international, the Gallice family occupies a special place in the history of French football since René and Jean are indeed the very first father and son to have worn the jersey of the French team in turn. In 1977, he left Haillan and joined Lyon. After a stint in Besançon, he put an end to his playing career in Libourne. |
