INFO:A classic example of a central defender. Courageous, resolute, not deprived of the nature of an athlete, Zvyahintsev was the absolute master in his own penalty area. In the mid-70s he was in great demand among the coaches of many teams. He was characterized as âphysically strong, jumpy, quickly oriented. He always acted carefully and diligently, he was equally strong in duels and in positional play".
Viktor Zvyahintsev started playing football at Shakhtar Donetsk. There he was twice Soviet runners-up in 1975 and 1979 and won the Soviet Cup with the club in 1980.
In 1976, in order to participate in the Olympic Games, he moved to Dynamo (Kiev). However, after the Olympics, in which the team could only take 3rd place, Zvyagintsev ended his performances at Dynamo. The reason for parting was the conflict between the players and Zvyahintsev himself with Lobanovsky.
The defender played 13 international matches for the Soviet national team and won the bronze medal with them at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.
