He attracted attention by the fact that he perfectly combined the duties of a right-back with the role of a right forward. Now such a player is called a “winger”. He was a versatile football player, unstoppable in attack, tenacious and accurate in defence - the opponent practically could not beat him one on one. He was distinguished by fantastic performance and endurance, speed, jumping ability, and dedication. He covered the entire right curb, if necessary, could successfully play the role of a flank midfielder, skillfully performed targeted passes. Troshkin himself was "courted" several times to Bayern Munich! A pupil of Enakievo Shakhtar, from the age of 20 he played in the capital of the Ukrainian SSR - first for SKA Kiev, and since 1969 for Dynamo, where he spent almost his entire career, ending it in 1978 in Dnipro. Before his appearance at Dynamo, Troshkin successfully played for the army team of Kyiv in the position of a defensive midfielder, where he mostly did a huge amount of rough work. Viktor Maslov liked a strong, hard-working football player with a good shot. In the right-back position, Vladimir ended up with the light hand of Alexander Sevidov, where his talents as a defender and organizer were even more revealed in attacks. Troshkin felt a little “cramped” in his new position, and he tried to join the attack from time to time. Troshkin's actions on the right edge were so convincing that first in June 1971, he made his debut in the Olympic team in a match with the Dutch (4:0 - he scored the third goal), and in April 1972 in the first USSR national team against the team of Peru (2:0). On the way to the final of the European Championship, the Soviet team successfully overcame the preliminary round, beat the Hungarian team in the semifinals (1:0), but lost to the powerful “German car” (0:3) in the fight for the title. Vladimir Troshkin spent all the matches on the field as a midfielder and became the silver medalist of the 1972 European Championship. Dynamo right-back Troshkin became the player whose skills were fully revealed with the arrival of Valery Lobanovsky to the team. The new tactical principles of "total football", which required the players to perform a large amount of high-speed work, skilful actions on various parts of the field, safety net and discipline, became Troshkin's football philosophy. The universalism of his actions on the football field is Vladimir's calling card. It would seem that the style of the game is defined. But in that season, new nuances appeared in Troshkin's game. It's the nuances. The organization of the game in total football is no longer a secret, and its general norms were known. Troshkin began to move into the zone of the central striker, and this was a surprise for many of his rivals. Of course, it benefited the team. In the tactical schemes of Lobanovsky, the right back played the role of a "shuttle". Mobile and hardy Troshkin tirelessly plowed the right edge, sometimes he could move to the center and free the flank for partners. His actions were no longer episodic, but were dictated by the principles of the collective game of Dynamo Kyiv. Vladimir Troshkin on the football field and beyond was a very authoritative person. The cheerful disposition of Vladimir in ordinary life was replaced by a tough, uncompromising fighter on the field. In the end - 4x champion of the USSR as part of Dynamo Kyiv, winner of the Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup (1975), he was three times included in the list of 33 best players of the year. As part of the Union team, he became the silver medallist of the 1972 European Championship and earned a bronze medal at the 1976 Olympics. Spoiler: show |
