INFO:A lively, very explosive winger who made his direct opponent dizzy with each game he played. Discovered at Red Star, he exercised his talents in average teams such as Valenciennes, RFC Liège, PSG, Paris FC before returning to finish his career at Red Star where it all started.
He trained at Red Star OA from 1964 to 1966. After a year, he joined the "Sports et Loisirs Vert-Blanc" team as a centre-forward, but his coach at the time tried him on the right wing of the attack because it was a position where he there wasn't too much competition. And finally he won this new position because he had the physical qualities that suited him to play this role of overflow along the touchline in order to send excellent crosses to the attackers. After three seasons at Valenciennes Bras will pack his bags to put them higher and more precisely in Belgium in the RFC Liège club where he will achieve a more than correct 69/70 year by totalling 25 games while scoring seven goals. But at the end of a Belgian year J-C will decide to return to the Paris region to accept the offer made to him by Paris Saint-Germain (club freshly born from the merger between Stade Saint-Germain and Paris FC) which came just promoted to the second division. The club of the capital will be the big surprise of the D2 by finishing first in their group with four points ahead of FC Rouen. And after having validated their ticket for the first division Bras and his teammates will finish the year in style by winning the title of French D2 champion by winning the mini-championship disputed against the other two first that were Lille and Monaco. For a return to France and a big daring bet by signing with PSG, J-C will have had flair after this very successful season in every way. After the split between PSG and PFC, Bras joined Paris FC, so it will be in the first division that Jean-Claude will evolve for the 72/73 season with Paris FC accompanied by a few teammates from PSG, but despite a good workforce, the Parisian team will experience mixed results. So during the summer of 1973 Jean-Claude decided to leave Paris FC to return to his favourite club, Red Star, which had just been relegated to the second division. The Audonian club will experience a long descent into hell and Bras, converted into a full-back, will not avoid the club's bankruptcy in 1978.
Selected six times with the Blues (scoring 2 goals), Bras made his debut with the French National Team and won for Les Bleus, even scoring twice to celebrate his third selection (France-Sweden 3-0, on 01/11/1969).
