INFO:Typical central (attacking) midfielder with great technique, passing, running in the midfield; He liked to shoot from the middle (not so accurate though) and often used an outside foot pass. Both nationally and internationally, the Twente midfield with Frans Thijssen, Arnold Mühren and Kick van der Vall was labelled as famous and illustrious. They had made an art of fooling opponents by holding the ball in midfield for minutes and then putting strikers like Jaap Bos, Jan Jeuring, Johan Zuidema, Theo Pahlplatz or Ab Gritter in position and then mercilessly allow. Many top clubs in those years were jealous of such a midfield.
In 1969 Van der Vall was brought back by FC Twente. He then stayed in Enschede for ten seasons. In total he played 352 league matches, 35 cup matches and 47 European matches for Twente, scoring 58, 8 and 7 times respectively. With the club he reached the semi-finals in the 1972/73 season and the final of the UEFA Cup in the 1974/75 season. In the 1973/74 season the club was in the race for the national championship for a long time, but finished second due to a loss to Feyenoord on the penultimate day of competition. In 1977 the KNVB Cup was won. In the 1977/78 season, Van der Vall reached the semi-finals of the European Cup II with FC Twente. In 1979 Van der Vall had to leave together with the other veterans Theo Pahlplatz and Kees van Ierssel. He said goodbye with a place in the final in the 1978/79 KNVB Cup, in which Twente lost to Ajax. Van der Vall then played two more seasons with Vitesse.
