He is one of the best midfielders in the club's history, although he also played as a striker. He made his debut in the first team in USA, where the Wisła players were on tour. He quickly became the main player of the team, and after a few years its captain. Kapka had a great orientation on the pitch and shooting intuition, with a strong hit. He could find a convenient shooting position, he could play with his body, fight hard and shoot accurately. Initially performed in the middle of the attack, later he was moved to the second line

A graduate of Wisła Kraków, he played in the years 1968–1983 and 1987. In 1980–1983, he wore the captain's armband from the Wisła team. In the league during 13 seasons, he played 327 matches in the first league and scored 93 goals. In the 1973/1974 season, he became the top scorer of the Polish league. and in the 1977/1978 season he won the title of Polish Champion with Wisła. In the years 1983–1986 he was a player of the American club Pittsburgh Spirit. He returned to the Vistula in the spring of 1987, ending his playing career.

14 times representative of the country in the years 1973–1981. With the senior national team of Poland, he took 3rd place at the 1974 World Championships.
