INFO:One of the discoveries of the 1978 World Cup, but injuries prevented him from pursuing a career in line with his talent. He scored the only goal in the national team on his debut in it. In Wisła, where he was a pupil, for many years - when he was not tormented by injuries - he was the backbone of the team, he made the game difficult for his rivals, he effectively guarded the best players of the opposing teams. Nawalka himself prefered to play as a defensive midfielder, because he liked to break the action and take the balls from rivals. Uses both feet, liked long shots. Good heading ability.
Nawałka made his steps in Wisła Kraków from 1969. At this club, at the age of 18, he also made his debut in the Ekstraklasa games. He twice won the Polish Junior Championship with the "White Star" (1975 and 1976). In the top division, he made his debut on May 21, 1975. In the 1977/1978 season, he was already the basic player of the "White Star" that won the Polish Championship. In 1985, he decided to end his professional football career due to recurring injuries. During the 10-year football adventure, he played for Wisła's first team in 190 matches, scoring 9 goals. From 1985 he played for 3 seasons in the US for the Polish-American Eagles.
Adam Nawałka's debut in the senior national team took place during a friendly match with Hungary on April 13, 1977. It was in this match that Nawałka scored his only goal in his career for the Polish team. The coach, Jacek Gmoch, appointed Adam Nawałka to the team for the 1978 World Cup. Nawałka played in the Polish national team in the years 1977-1980 and played with the eagle on his chest in a total of 34 games.
