Defence MindedINFO:A tough, but somewhat careless defender, his motto was: 'if there is a need to kick, I kick it first'. A real cleaner (sweeper) with a huge fighting spirit, Dusbaba was not known for his refined technique but for his sometimes rock-hard interventions. He could also be used as a stopper or left back.
Thoroughly talented, he became champions with Ajax, Anderlecht and Standard Liège and managed to play four times for the Dutch national team, but his lifestyle stood in the way of a bigger career. He started his career at hometown club ADO Den Haag. From 1974 he played for Ajax Amsterdam where he won the national championship in 1977 under coach Tomislav Ivić. He moved abroad to play in Belgium for Anderlecht alongside compatriots Ressel, Haan and Rensenbrink where, under coach Raymond Goethals, he won the European Cup Winners' Cup in his first season and in 1981 the Belgian championship. In the 1981/82 season he again won the Belgian championship with Standard Liège, again the coach Goethals.
Dusbaba made his debut for the Netherlands in an August 1977 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Iceland and earned a total of 4 caps, scoring no goals. His final international was an October 1978 UEFA Euro qualification match against Switzerland. He was a preliminary member for the 1978 FIFA World Cup, but was not part of the final squad.
