Best goalscorer in the history of Wisla. 304 league matches and 153 goals. Top scorer of the Polish league in 1976, 1978, 1979, 1980, winner of the Polish league in 1978 with his Wisla. He was of average height and of a slim stature. Fantastic athletic abilities, magical first touch, excellent acceleration and dribbles with the ball. Amazing leap, penalty, free kick and corner kick taker. Liked to play 1-2s. After the match against Celtic in which Wisla passed through - "Polish Cruyff" - this is what British journalists hailed Wiślak. This comparison must have flattered Kmiecik a lot, after all, his greatest idol was the legendary Dutchman! The legendary Wisła sniper spent a lot of time training to learn to play like a Dutchman. He tried to imitate him, improved his technique and, like Cruyff, he focused on the dribbling for which the Dutch player was famous. He played 35 matches and scored eight goals for the Poland national team. He was a participant at the 1972 Summer Olympics, where Poland won the gold medal, the 1974 FIFA World Cup, where Poland won the bronze medal and 1976 Summer Olympics, where Poland won the silver medal. Spoiler: show |

Lovely. He later came to Greece to play for AEL. Alongside Adamczyk they composed the greatest foreign duel of the club, achieving its first title (Greek Cup) and giving unforgettable moments. He reached 89 caps and scored 33 goals in total. |

Thanks Fanis, I've watched some of the highlights while playing in Greece, he was so easy-going it was great to watch him... although I noticed he did gain some (maybe some more) weight while playing there ![]() |
