INFO:Good technician, set-piece taker (particularly famous for his bomb free kicks), who had fine and sharp crosses as well. Europe's 2nd highest goalscorer in 76-77 season with 36 goals for Vasas. Striker, usually on the left in attack. He was famous for his powerful shots. On one occasion, at the end of the first half of a championship in Csepel, his teammates signaled him to kick the ball far, so that by the time it returned, the half would be over. After a huge bomb shot from near the halfway line, the ball bounced off the double goal post. Vasas fans also carved a rhyme: "Béla, Béla, Béluska, úgy lő mint a géppuska..." (Béla, Béla, Béluska, shoot like a machine gun...).
He started his career in Putnok and then continued in Ózdon. From 1971, he was a striker for Vasas SC. From 1983, he played for the French FC Tours for two seasons. After that, he returned to the Hungarian league for a short time, and then finished his career with lower division teams. In the Hungarian league, he played in 365 league games and scored 179 goals. He won the championship title with Vasas SC in 1977, won the Hungarian Cup with the same team in 1973, 1981 and 1986 and the Central European Cup in 1983 . In the championship season, he was the top scorer in the Hungarian league and the second best scorer in Europe with 36 goals. He played in 2 matches in the European Champions Cup, in the Cup Winners' Cuphe started in 5 matches and scored 3 goals and in the UEFA Cup he started in 11 matches and scored 3 goals.
Between 1972-82 he scored 13 goals in 36 matches. He was a member of the silver medal winning team at the 1972 Munich Olympics. He was a member of the 1978 World Cup in Argentina, but due to an unfortunate hamstring injury, he did not play in a single match - when he was in the best form of his life!
