The lightning-fast right winger of Fradi in the 70s. Pusztai was a forward who also plays on the right wing. He was an incredibly fast player with an athletic body and with powerful shots. Inaddition, he provided eight to ten assists in one season, and at the same time scored eight to ten goals per league. No one expected brilliant technical solutions from him, but you could tell that he would surely pull on the edge, and then a great pass would come. He was characterized by running away and giving, but he also took his share of the scoring. At first he was so fast that he often ran into the baseline, later Ebedli Zoltan knew exactly where to send the ball.
He played for Szegedi EAC, Budapest Honvéd FC and Ferencvárosi TC. He won two championship titles with Ferencvárosi TC in 1976 and 1981 and won the Hungarian Cup with the same club in 1976 and 1978 . He played in 2 matches and scored 2 goals in the European Champions Cup, in the Cup Winners' Cup he played in 13 matches and scored 4 goals and in the UEFA Cup he played in 6 matches and scored 4 goals. He scored the goal against Red Star in the ECWC semi-finals to silence the 100,000 people crowd and help Fradi reach the European final!
He played for the Hungarian national team in 1970-1979 in 25 games and scored 5 goals. Pusztai was a member of the Hungarian national team at the 1978 FIFA World Cup, playing in 2 matches.
